How much Under Armour are paying Trent Alexander-Arnold - and what Liverpool star is doing with the money

Liverpool starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to be the top earner at Liverpool when it comes to boot deals as he prepares to sign a lucrative contract with Under Armour.

Alexander-Arnold, 20, is on the brink of putting pen-to-paper on a new £1.6million per year deal with the American sportswear brand that will see him earn £6.4m over four years.

This link-up is the second highest boot sponsorship in the England squad behind Tottenham star Harry Kane - and is considerably more than Reds teammate Virgil van Dijk.

Though that may not be the case for long, with recent reports suggesting the Dutch defender is being lined up by Puma for a big-money partnership.

Premier League young player of the year debate: Experts decide who should win

However, as it stands, Alexander-Arnold brings in the most boot sponsorship money and he will use the proceeds to help out his local area.

Alexander-Arnold has enjoyed a stunning rise through the ranks and is now an integral part of the Liverpool first team.

He has also earned five senior England caps and was part of the Three Lions squad who reached the semi-finals at last summer’s World Cup in Russia.

And the Liverpool Echo have reported that the footballer will use the funds to purchase land and build facilities including football pitches for the local Liverpool communities.

How England's World Cup 2022 squad could look

“I'm just fortunate to play for my boyhood club and for people to be able to see that dreams can come true," he told the Echo in November last year.

"Hopefully the younger people in the city see it too.

"I saw [Steven] Gerrard and [Jamie] Carragher do it when I was young. I always wanted to be them.

"The aim is for more young Scousers to come through the Academy and do the same."
