Nearly 20 years after the original film first gagged an entire generation, the women of The Devil Wears Prada are reportedly cashing in HARD for the sequel.
According to a new report from Variety, the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 have scored some seriously eye-watering paydays as the movie continues to dominate at the box office, already pulling in more than $300 million globally.
Naturally, Meryl Streep — who returns as everyone’s favourite terrifying editor Miranda Priestly — was reportedly the studio’s top priority. Sources told the outlet that 20th Century Studios came to the negotiating table with an offer worthy of Streep’s Hollywood status and enduring star power.

But despite apparently being able to command an even bigger salary, the Oscar-winning actor reportedly accepted $12.5 million to reunite with Miranda’s icy silver bob for the David Frankel-directed sequel.
And in a very anti-Miranda move, Streep seemingly made sure her co-stars were looked after too.
Per the report, Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt negotiated a “favoured nations” deal, meaning Hathaway and Blunt also reportedly pocketed $12.5 million each to reprise Andrea Sachs and Emily Charlton.
Honestly? That’s kind of iconic.
The trio’s reported salaries don’t stop there either. Sources claimed all three actors also secured lucrative box office bonuses tied to the film’s performance — and with audiences apparently flocking to cinemas, those bonuses are already beginning to pay out.
According to the report, each star could end up earning more than $20 million if the sequel keeps smashing box office milestones.
Miranda Priestly would probably call that “groundbreaking”.

It comes after Streep admitted in an interview that she managed to double her salary for the original film.
“I read the script [for the original], the script was great. They called me up and they made an offer, and I said, ‘No, not going to do it’,” Streep said during an interview with Today.
“I knew it was going to be a hit, and I wanted to see if I doubled my ask … And they went right away and said, ‘Sure’. I thought, I’m 50-60 [years old] — it took me this long to understand that I could do that! They needed me, I felt. I was ready to retire. That was a lesson.”
Meanwhile, there’s been some chatter about a potential third film due to the smash success of the sequel, but the cast have conditions.
