How much Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's pay staff as supermarket salaries ranked

The best and worst supermarkets for staff pay have been ranked, with just one chain giving its employees £10 an hour outside of London.

Morrisons this year became the first major supermarket to guarantee pay of at least £10 an hour for all employees.

The increase meant a pay rise for up to 96,000 workers who were at the time on £9.20 an hour - meaning a weekly boost from £330.10 to £367.50 for someone working 36.75 hours.

The new £10-an-hour rate applies to employees outside of London, as those working in the capital get an enhanced rate.

At the time of announcing its increase, Morrisons said it would also be upping the weighting for inner London from 75p to 85p per hour.
