How much Spurs paid to agents and intermediaries in the past year despite no new signings

The Football Association have today announced the fees paid by clubs to intermediaries and agents between February 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.

This period covers last summer's transfer window ahead of the 2018/19 season and the January transfer window.

While it was a quiet period for Spurs as they failed to bring a single player in during the last two windows, they still paid just over £11million to intermediaries and agents.

According to figures published by The FA, the net total paid by the Lilywhites was £11,141,255.

Although the club haven't added to their squad since the arrival of Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2018, the figure does take into account the fee paid to agents regarding new contracts.

The likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Erik Lamela have all agreed new deals in N17 over the past 12 months, with Mauricio Pochettino also signing fresh terms last May.

The figures show that eight Premier League clubs spent more money on fees to agents and intermediaries in that period, with Liverpool spending the most (£43,795,863).

The Reds splashed the cash in the transfer market in the summer with the likes of Alisson, Naby Keita and Fabinho all arriving for big money.

Whereas the Reds paid a huge amount to agents and intermediaries, Burnley paid the least after just shelling out £3,975,928.
