How much salary cap space the Panthers have after 1st wave of free agency

Now that the first wave of free agency has crashed and settled into shore, we have a bit of a better idea on where the Carolina Panthers will sail next. We also have a better idea of how much cash they have left for their next voyage.

According to Spotrac.com, the Panthers have approximately $16.13 million in salary cap space at this very moment. And let’s put on emphasis on the “at this very moment” part, as the details on the deals for defensive tackle DeShawn Williams and offensive lineman Justin McCray have yet to be announced.

So, as we wait on those, let’s also take a look at the 2023 cap hits for each of the team’s free-agent signings this offseason.

After losing No. 1 wideout DJ Moore in their pursuit of the No. 1 overall pick, the Panthers will likely use some of that money on a receiver or two. The team has expressed some degree of interest in Odell Beckham Jr., Adam Thielen and Mecole Hardman.
