How much property prices rose or fell in every North East postcode area in 2020

For some homeowners, 2020 saw property prices rise by a staggering 62% compared to the previous year in their postcode area of Northumberland.

Other parts of the county also enjoyed healthy double digit rises as did areas of Tyne and Wear.

However at the other end of the spectrum, some postcode areas saw sold property prices drop by as much as 36% compared to 2019.

Our findings were based on analysis of 99 North East postcode areas across Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

We looked at how many properties sold in each area in 2020 and the average price.

We then did exactly the same for 2019 and compared the two results.
