How much pressure is Gary Kubiak under in Minnesota?

The Vikings brought Gary Kubiak in as an offensive advisor after a somewhat nightmarish season in Minnesota offensively. John DeFilippo was supposed to be the up-and-coming, new and hip offensive coordinator.

Well, umm, that didn’t work.

Now Kubiak is teaming up with Kevin Stefanski to help lead the Vikings offense.

Chris Wesseling at NFL.com wrote an article that ranked the top new assistants under the most pressure. Kubiak was the first name on his list.

Here’s a bit of what Wesseling wrote about Kubiak:

Just as Kubiak learned the play-calling ropes from one of the all-time greats in Mike Shanahan, Stefanski couldn’t ask for a better mentor as he undertakes the tall task of resurrecting an offense that gradually grew moribund at the hand of DeFilippo.

The move to get Kubiak was a brilliant one by Mike Zimmer, Rick Spielman and the rest of the Vikings organization. With Kubiak’s play-action system, it’s a perfect marriage to quarterback Kirk Cousins.

To say Kubiak is under a lot of pressure probably isn’t as accurate as saying the Vikings offense is under a lot of pressure to execute Kubiak’s system.
