Liverpool are now just £4.4million away from earning the full £142million from the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, according to reports.
The Reds parted company with the Brazil international in January 2018 after Coutinho handed in a transfer request via email.
Liverpool received an initial £106million from the transfer with Barcelona agreeing to pay an additional £36million in variable bonuses.
The bonuses include an appearance fee, which will be paid in full after Coutinho plays 100 games for Barcelona, as well as pay-outs for Champions League success and individual accolades, like winning the Ballon d'Or.
As things stand Liverpool have apparently earned £17.5million from Barcelona, which equates to £123.5million of the total fee they are owed.
This, in theory, means that the Reds are still due £18.5million of the transfer fee.
But according to the Liverpool Echo, the Anfield club have already received a bigger sum and are in fact only owed £5million from Barcelona.
This means that should Coutinho move on in the summer then the Reds would have made a whopping £137million from the sale of the Brazilian.
Liverpool used the money from the Coutinho transfer to sign Alisson and Virgil van Dijk - two players who have transformed Jurgen Klopp's side into Champions League winners.
