How much Man Utd will have to pay to offload Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo

Manchester United are preparing to splash the cash to get rid of Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo this summer, according to reports.

Forward Sanchez and defender Rojo are not in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's plans, with the Norwegian expected to stamp his imprint on the United squad.

Chilean Sanchez has never settled in Manchester after his switch from Arsenal last January.

He has only managed 17 Premier League appearances this season and has only managed two goals across all competitions - his latest strike coming in January in the FA Cup against former club the Gunners.

Solskjaer has only trusted Sanchez enough to start him five times, with only three of those coming in the league.

Argentine Rojo has seen even less game time than his continent-mate.

The utility defender has made five appearances, 192 minutes of which have come in the Premier League, with injuries keeping him out of the starting XI.

With Sanchez and Rojo surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, both are set to be searching for new clubs when the transfer window reopens.

Why Man Utd are training at old base ahead of Manchester derby

The Red Devils are so desperate to push them out, they are willing to pay millions of pounds to buyout their contracts.

Rojo still has two years left on his £150,000-a-week United contract, having signed a fresh deal last summer, and will demand £6million in severance to tear it up.

Sanchez is contracted for another three years at Old Trafford and is on a humongous £505,000-a-week which would need a gigantic payoff.

The best case scenario for United is other clubs make a move for the duo so they can get a transfer fee - and have stuck a low £15m on Rojo in a bid to flog him to interest a series of Italian clubs.

'An Old Trafford source' told the Sun: “There’s a few players that want to go but they will need paying off to get them out.

“It won’t come cheap and it will affect certain things in the transfer market. There are plans already been put in place.

“The club are setting aside a contingency fund to get certain players moving out in the summer."
