How much it costs to rent Bristol's empty shops

Bristol's shopping areas have seen some high-profile stores close in recent months.

Among those are the Park Street branch of denim brand Levi's and the Patisserie Valerie cafe in Queens Road.

The Government is considering how it can help high streets across the country emerge from the challenging climate.

Last month local authorities were urged to "get to grips with the fact that their town centres need to change", in a Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee's (HCLG) report.

It called for business rates to be "made fair", arguing "they are currently stacking the odds against businesses with a high street presence and this must end".

We have looked at how much traders would have to pay in rates and rent if they were to open businesses in some of Bristol's empty units.
