But apparently that's news to him with the Scottish star taking to Instagram to reveal exactly how much is in his bank account after googling his net worth.
The 22-year-old singing sensation has shot to fame with the success of his hit Someone You Loved, and often jokes about "Milking the f*** out of this one hit wonder thing".

However in a hilarious Instagram story, published in his hotel room in Ohio, he revealed he has under £200 in his bank account - despite normally reliable sources estimating that he is worth $10million.
He said: "So I have a day off in Cincinnati, I thought for a laugh I'd Google it and see what the internet says about my net worth.
"It says according to Forbes and Wikipedia, Lewis Capaldi's estimated net worth is $10million.
"I have less than £200 in my bank right now so who the f*** has my $10million."
The star also hilariously made the comparison on Twitter, showing two different facial expressions.
He joked: "googling my ‘net worth’ vs looking at my bank account".

Continuing on Instagram, he added: "Are you telling I'm kicking about in the same clothes I've worn for the last six months and there's $10million sitting about somewhere, where is it?
"I still live with my mum and dad, I've been in the same bedroom since I was 12-years-old and there's apparently $10million sitting there?
"If the tax man sees that, I'm f****d".
Capaldi, from Bathgate , West Lothian, then joked that he planned to use the net worth article to impress people.

Fans were so quick to snatch up tickets online that the entire section of the arena was reserved before it had the chance to go to general sale.
Tickets for the second Glasgow gig are to go on pre sale on Thursday at 9am.
