Daniel Craig will officially step down as James Bond after the release of No Time To Die, the latest instalment in the popular franchise.
It will be his fifth bond film in 15 years. His first being Casino Royale, released in 2006.
No Time To Die will premiere at the Albert Hall tonight, before being release in the UK on 30 September.
Since landing the coveted part, Craig has repeatedly complained of the toll the role has taken on his body.
He broke his ankle during filming for No Time To Die and sustained a significant injury to knee while filming Spectre, released in 2015.
Craig was infamously reluctant to return to the role after Spectre.
Speaking to GQ, he said: "I was like, 'Is this work really genuinely worth this, to go through this, this whole thing?' And I felt physically really low. So the prospect of doing another movie was just, like, off the cards. And that’s why it has been five years.”
The British actor also spoke recently of an injury sustained when filming with professional wrestler Dave Bautista
With all that in mind, it is unlikely that several nasty injuries and having to be "thrown about" by a 6' 3" wrestler comes without a significant pay day.
How much has Daniel Craig earned from James Bond?
Reports vary on exactly how much Craig has earned from his time as 007.
According to CelebAnswers, Craig made around £18 million each for the upcoming No Time To Die and Spectre.
Firstpost reported in 2012 that the actor also brought in £1.9 million, £4.4 million and £10.7 million for Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008) and Skyfall (2012) respectively.
Away from Bond, Variety revealed that Craig is now the highest paid actor in the world with earnings of $100 million, due to two sequels of the film 'Knives Out'.
In an interview with Candis magazine, he spoke of his reluctance to give his inheritance away to his relatives after his death.
"Isn’t there an old adage that if you die a rich person, you’ve failed?
“I think Andrew Carnegie gave away what in today’s money would be about 11 billion dollars, which shows how rich he was because I’ll bet he kept some of it, too.”
Craig added: “I don’t want to leave great sums to the next generation. I think inheritance is quite distasteful. My philosophy is get rid of it or give it away before you go.”
