How much does Mike Zimmer like Riley Reiff? Enough for free rein of the beer in his fridge

Former Vikings LT Riley Reiff departed from Minnesota for Cincinnati in the 2021 offseason. He played four seasons with the Vikings and was given captain duties with the team.

Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer seems to like Reiff — quite a lot. Here’s what he said about the Bengals tackle before Cincinnati and Minnesota face off in Week 1:

“One of my favorite guys of all time,” Mike Zimmer said of Reiff, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. “When he went to Cincinnati I told him he can have all of my gate codes and house codes to my place there if ever wants to go hunting or anything. I told him he could even have all the beer in the fridge if he wanted.”

Reiff has switched from left tackle with the Vikings to right tackle with the Bengals. That means he will go up against his former teammate Danielle Hunter. That’s a tough first matchup with his new team, but Reiff is coming off a good year in 2020. It will certainly be a good matchup to watch.
