How much did the John Lewis 2019 advert cost to make?

The day is finally here, and after what seems like a lifetime of waiting, John Lewis has released its Christmas advert.

The advert, which features an adorable dragon called Edgar, has had people up and down the UK in tears - with many saying it's a vast improvement on last year's Elton John Offering.

One question on everybody's lips, though, seems to be 'how much did the John Lewis advert 2019 cost to make?'

It's believed that John Lewis' Edgar advert cost around £7 million to make in total, though when you consider how much time and expertise goes into it from start to finish, it's not as surprising as you might think.

John Lewis hasn't yet confirmed the exact figure behind this year's advert, but last year's offering cost £7m, with the advert produced in 2017 costing a similar amount to make.

Taking to Twitter, one shopper said: "John Lewis spending 7 million on their Christmas advert is ridiculous."

"John Lewis advert cost 7 million to make," said another - ending their tweet with a shocked emoji.

A third wrote: "John Lewis advert cost 7mil? Is that a joke."

Manchester Evening News has contacted John Lewis for an exact figure behind this year's Christmas advert, but they have declined to comment.
