For almost everyone, 2020 is not a year that will want to be remembered.
The coronavirus pandemic has meant that thousands of people have lost their lives, thousands have lost their jobs and everyone has been forced to go about their daily lives living under tight restrictions.
For Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka, though, 2020 has seen him go from strength to strength. Not only as he consolidated himself as a regular fixture in Mikel Arteta's team at the Emirates Stadium, but he has also made his England debut and been awarded four caps by Three Lions chief Gareth Southgate.
To have done that before turning 20-years-old is a remarkable achievement, offering encouragement to Arsenal supporters that they have one of English football's most exciting stars on their hands.
At the same time, though, Arsenal can count themselves lucky to still have Saka on their books, with German giants Borussia Dortmund having been keeping tabs on his development before he put an end to the speculation surrounding his future by putting pen to paper on a new deal in July.
Since signing that new deal in the summer, the teenage starlet has continued to go from strength to strength. So far this season, the left-sided player, who can operate as either a left-back, left wing-back or left winger, has made 12 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring once.
With Saka having now established himself as a key player within Arteta's team, his stock has most certainly been on the rise, with the speedy wide-man attracting no shortage of plaudits and admiration.
Now, new specialised transfer data has emerged, which looks at players from across the world whose valuations has soared since the start of the year.
Casumo.com has now released the latest data, comparing the values of players at this moment in time in comparison to how much they were valued at back on January 1.
Whilst the some of the top names on the list including Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies and Mason Greenwood of Manchester United, Saka has also made the cut, with his valuation having rocketed by more than £23million since New Year's Day.
At the start of the year, Saka, who was unable to help Arsenal get back to winning ways against Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, was valued at just £11.7m. Now, less than a year later, the England international is valued at £36m, which is a dramatic jump of £24.3m.
With the winger's stock having risen that much in such a short period of time, it should excite Gunners fans about how much he could be worth in years to come, proving that they have one of English football's most exciting, young talents on their books.
