How much are drinks and beer at Manchester Pride Live?

The live music at the new MCR Pride Live site has got underway this afternoon, with headline performances today from Yungblud and Sigala.

The music will take over a site just off First Street today and tomorrow, August 28 and 29.

It's the first time Manchester Pride have held their live music at this venue, which is around a 10-minute walk from the edge of the Gay Village.

Two stages have been built here, the main stage and the Gaydio Dance Tent - you can see the full stage times and line up for Saturday here.

But the question on everyone's lips will be - 'exactly how much is a pint going to cost me?'

Live music venues can be notoriously expensive for drinks - and it's no different at MCR Pride Live.

The main bar at the venue is a can bar, with 440ml cans of Amstel and Strongbow coming in at £5.30 apiece.

It's £5.50 for 330ml cans of Heineken, Desperados and Old Mout Cider, and the same price for a 440ml can of Strongbow Dark Fruit.

If you're wanting an IPA, you're looking at £5.60 for a can of Lagunitas IPA.

Half-bottles of wine from Headliner at £13 each.

There are nods to local producers, with cans of Didsbury gin and tonic £6 each.

For other spirits like Captain Morgan rum, Gordons gin, and Smirnoff vodka, it's £6 for 25ml or £8.50 for a double measure.

Soft drinks are priced between £2.20 and £3.50.

One of the smaller bars at the MCR Pride Live site is serving pints - but at £6.50 for a pint of Heineken or Strongbow Dark Fruit, it'll cost you.
