Alexis Sanchez is set to end his Manchester United nightmare by signing for Inter Milan.
The Italian giants have agreed a loan deal with the Chilean forward, with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte keen to team him up with Romelu Lukaku, who also left Old Trafford this summer.
Inter do not have an option to buy at the end of the loan, however, with terms not yet agreed over the amount of his astronomical wages they will pay while he is on loan for the season.
Sanchez has endured a torrid time in Manchester, after a blistering Arsenal spell.
The 30-year-old scored a quite brilliant 80 goals in 166 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, at almost a goal every other game.
But since joining the Red Devils in January 2018, as part of a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan - who has failed to set the world alight at Arsenal - Sanchez has managed just five goals in 45 appearances.
It has been a disastrous spell, and one which has cost United a hefty sum of money.
According to research in April, Sanchez had been paid more than anyone else in the Premier League for sitting on the bench, something that will have brought a wry smile to the faces of anyone connected with Arsenal.
At that time he had been paid almost £5million (£4,881,014) just to sit on the bench – having sat on the bench for 15 hours and 17 minutes, at £5,323 per minute.
Applying that data to the rest of the season, with Sanchez benched on four more occasions after that, seeing just 86 more minutes of action in the Premier League, we can work out that the Chilean earned another £1,511,732 for sitting on the bench.
That took his 2018/19 season total to a whopping £6,392,746 - a stunning amount of money.
