How MP Jacob Rees-Mogg angered Liverpool FC fans with Instagram post

Everything you need to know about Jacob Rees-Mogg

He captioned the photo: "Ice cream covered children at the Corston County Fair in glorious sunshine."

However, two of his sons were dressed in full Liverpool FC kits, which did not go down well with Liverpool FC fans on Twitter.

One angry fan wrote: "Do they know if their father had his way Liverpool the city wouldn’t exist?"

Another added: "Christ, can you lot leave us NOTHING undefiled? Not ONE thing?"

Others defended the choice of attire. Ged Hindley said on Facebook: "I'm a Liverpool supporter and I don't care who their dad is, YNWA little Moggs, but your dad is a t**l."

Colin Murray said: "Maybe his kids support Liverpool? It would be wrong for their dad to tell them they can't wear their favourite football team's kit just because he doesn't like them."
