How Meghan Markle will watch Prince Philip's funeral

Meghan Markle is to watch a special live-stream of the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, from her home in Santa Monica, California.

The Duchess of Sussex has been unable to attend the funeral in person as she is heavily pregnant.

Her husband, Prince Harry, will be at the funeral alongside 29 other guests.

Buckingham Palace says those unable to attend will be able to watch a special live stream which will show online coverage of the ceremony, reports The Star.

This will be the same footage as shown online, and by other broadcasters, but will not have any commentary.

A source told People that both Meghan and Harry "were in contact with the Queen" soon after Philip's death and Meghan reportedly "expressed condolences" to Her Majesty.

The source said: "The Queen understands why she can't travel at the moment."
