How Marcelo Bielsa plans to solve the midfield injury crisis facing Leeds United

Tuesday night's win against West Brom was everything Leeds United needed after a difficult time in the league, especially at home. But the three points did come at a cost with both captian Liam Cooper and then midfielder Jamie Shackleton forced off the field through injury.

Cooper is out for up to six weeks, and Shackleton four, so all ears were on hearing of the progress regarding the fitness of both Pablo Hernandez and midfielder Adam Forshaw in preparations for the trip to Millwall.

Marcelo Bielsa confirmed both had improved, but neither would be fit to play on Saturday.

"He is better [Pablo Hernandez] but he and Adam Forshaw are not going to be part of the group on Saturday", .

What then, for Leeds United's midfield at The Den? With three out something needs to budge, and it looks like the gaffer already has a plan in place to make the system work.

"Probably, in Jamie Shackleton's position, we are probably going to play Ayling instead of Dallas and Dallas instead of Shackleton.

"The other option is Klich in place of Shackleton and Tyler Roberts in place of Klich."

Regarding option one, Stuart Dallas spent a brief period of the game in central midfield on Tuesday night against West Brom - Tyler Roberts was substituted then in a bid to tighten things up and keep the visitors at bay.

It looks then, like the versatility of Dallas - who has been impressive at right-back this season - will be the key to making things work during this injury-stricken period for the Whites midfield.

That or a role for Roberts and change of position for Klich.
