'How many times?' - The Crystal Palace fans fuming at VAR after Max Meyer strike is ruled out

Not for the first time this season, VAR is the main talking point in a Premier League fixture.

During the first half of Crystal Palace's clash with Southampton at St Mary's, the Eagles thought they had taken the lead through Max Meyer, after he found the net from close range after being set up by Wilfried Zaha.

The Palace players started celebrating, with the travelling supporters going wild after what they thought was a perfectly good goal.

But their celebrations were soon cut short, with the goal being referred to the video assistant referee to rule on a possible offside, which went in the home side's favour.

Replays showed that it was extremely tight, but Zaha's arm was just ahead of Southampton defender Jack Stephens, with the goal being chalked off as a result, despite the efforts of Zaha to beat his man and cut in from the left to deliver the pass for Meyer.

It was a call that had Southampton supporters breathing a huge sigh of relief, but it had the opposite effect for Palace fans, who were left infuriated by the decision.

And here's what some fans have been saying about the decision to rule out the goal on social media.

What did you make of the decision?

Was it harsh?
