No. 3 seed Texas Tech will square off against No. 1 seed UVA in the NCAA men’s national championship on Monday, in a game that will start way too late, and in doing so will be on a quest for history.
Texas Tech has never won a title in men’s basketball.
The school does have a basketball title, however. The Lady Raiders won the national title in 1993, which doubled as their lone appearance in the Final Four.
The men’s team has never made a Final Four until this year … in fact they’ve only made the Elite Eight twice, the first one coming last year.
The school has made 16 appearances in the men’s tournament since its first season in 1966.
