Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. has announced price hikes on 2026 ticket prices, including single-day, single-park and Park Hopper tickets as well as annual passes. A Walt Disney spokesperson said in a statement to Fox35Orlando.com that the price increase won’t take effect until after October 2026, however. At that time, a single-day, single-park ticket could exceed $200 for Magic Kingdom or EPCOT on peak days.

Can Sales Help Reduce Your Costs for a Disney Vacation?
However, Disney has also been known to offer deals that help offset price increases. This five-night vacation at a Disney Value Resort would average $7,093.

Disney Stock Prices
The price increase announcement on Oct. 8, didn’t have a significant effect on stock prices. Disney stock has been hovering between $110 and $116 per share throughout October. It has dropped from the $120s in July and is down from its 52-week high of $124.69, but it’s up more than 18%, year-over-year, from $93.60 on Oct. 9, 2024 to $111 at the closing bell on Oct. 9.
Buying Disney Stock
Let’s take that $7,093 a family might spend on a Disney World vacation and, instead, invest it in Disney stock at $110 per share, not taking any brokerage fees into consideration. You could buy 64 shares with a little bit left over.
How Much Money Would You Have in 5 Years?
Disney is a dividend-earning stock, providing dividends of 50 cents per share twice a year, in June and December. We then used ChatGPT to run the math based on historical averages at PortfolioLabs.com, assuming a 1.6% compound annual growth rate.
At the end of five years, your investment would have grown to $7,617, which wouldn’t even keep pace with the cost of Disney park ticket increases.
However, Disney stock has had an upswing in the past three years, benefiting from post-pandemic-era revenge spending. If the stock price continues to rebound, recent dips notwithstanding, your investment could see an 8.55% total return, giving you $10,600 in five years.
That’s enough cash to upgrade to a luxury resort at Walt Disney World and perhaps choose a few more full-service dinners or character dining.
