How many people can you meet at the pub or a restaurant?

On Saturday many people will be off for their first proper pub pint - or any other drink of their chosing.

That's because pubs and restaurants have been given the green light to reopen on July 4.

It's part of a series of measures being eased in England including the return of hairdressers, a new relaxed social distancing rule and more opportunities to meet with loved ones.

People up and down the country have been separated from partners, parents and grandparents for more than three months due to the  coronavirus  lockdown in the UK.

But from today two households will be able to meet inside their homes at one time, regardless of the size of household.

This is in addition to 'support bubbles' which can be formed by those in single-adult households, allowing them to socialise with others without having to stay two metres away.

And now that we can meet up with more people and with pubs and restaurants reopening, can we combine the two?

The guidance states that when eating or drinking out with people you do not live with, you should only meet one other household if you are seated indoors.

People from more than two households at once cannot meet indoors but if you are eating or drinking outdoors, you can do so with one other household or in a group of up to six people from different households.
