How many Hollington Drive episodes are there and where is it filmed?

Many drama fans are getting really excited about ITV’s brand-new upcoming series, Hollington Drive.

The show will star Line of Duty’s Anna Maxwell Martin and Rachael Stirling, previously seen on the BBC drama Tipping the Velvet.

The central plot will revolve around two sisters, Theresa (Maxwell Martin) and Helen (Stirling), who are forced to consider the possibility that their children might be responsible for something unthinkable.

Anna has described her character as having a “horrible co-dependent relationship with her sister that sort of defines her.”

The ITV show will also star Rhashan Stone, Peter McDonald, Ken Nwosu, Jonas Armstrong and Jodie McNee alongside other talented cast members.

Upon reading the script, director Carolina Giammetta said that “straight away it didn’t feel like the typical UK domestic thriller.”

She went on to say that, while the show is a dark thriller, “… there is humour there. The tone is quite specific.”

The new ITV show will take the format of a one-hour drama and will be aired in four parts.

It is not yet known if there will be a second series.

Where is Hollington Drive filmed?

Hollington Drive was filmed in Wales, with specific locations in Cardiff being used for the shoots. Film crews were spotted on The Mill housing estate and Sanatorium Park in Canton, taking appropriate Covid-19 precautions while filming.

The show’s Executive Producer, Jonathan Fisher, said that “the search for the location was extensive, to say the least”.

“We reviewed over 100 possible cul-de-sacs… we knew when we saw it, we’d know it was the one”.

He went on to describe the filming location of Hollington Drive as “almost a character in itself”.

When is Hollington Drive on TV?

The show is set to hit our screens sometime in late September.

The show’s writer, Sophie Petzal (who also wrote the Channel 5 hit series Blood), said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Jonathan Fisher and West Road Pictures once again to bring our project Hollington Drive to ITV. We hope it will keep audiences gripped to their televisions.”
