How many games Ederson will miss after red card against Wolves in Premier League

Manchester City were reduced to 10-men after just 14 minutes during their Premier League clash against Wolves after Ederson was sent off for a challenge on Diogo Jota.

The Brazilian rushed off his line after a long ball was clipped over the City defenders and made contact with the Wolves attacker as he was through on goal.

Martin Atkinson brandished a red card before a VAR check was completed and the decision was upheld forcing Claudio Bravo into the action.

Sergio Aguero was substituted in his place and Ederson will be suspended for City's next fixture against Sheffield United on Sunday.

Bravo is likely to start in between the sticks against Chris Wilder's men with Scott Carson taking his place on the substitutes bench.

Despite receiving a straight red card, the shot stopper will only be unavailable for one game. Red cards given for violent conduct will result in a three-match ban while professional fouls are just one.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker received a similar dismissal against Brighton earlier in the season meaning he missed the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

Ederson will be available for selection again in the New Year when they face Everton at the Etihad Stadium on New Years Day.
