After weeks of adverts, new ITV drama Viewpoint made its highly anticipated debut on Monday night, with millions tuning into get a first look.
Shot in Manchester last year, the thriller follows surveillance officer Martin Young as he takes over the house of mum and secret voyeur Zoe Sterling to try and get to the bottom of the disappearance of missing school teacher Gemma Hillman.
With Gemma's boyfriend Greg the prime suspect, Martin uses Zoe's flat to get a clear view of the couple's home on the other side of the street.
Episode 1 of Viewpoint saw Greg grilled by Martin's former colleagues in the CID, with flashbacks revealing something traumatic was behind Martin's decision to switch to surveillance.
Former Coronation Street star and Strictly contestant Catherine Tyldesley is also in the Viewpoint cast as Kate Tuckman, a character many viewers immediately became to suspect had something to hide.
The first episode ended on a real cliff-hanger as, against Martin's orders, Zoe accepted Greg's offer of a drink and headed inside to his house.
