Vera is back and ready to keep millions of fans guessing as series 11 resumes on ITV this weekend.
Author Ann Cleeves, the woman whose novels have inspired the long-running drama, has promised the new episodes are well worth the wait for the legions of viewers who are sure to tune in to see Brenda Blethyn and her fellow cast members in action on Sunday night.
The Vera cast for the rest of series 11 includes a series of guest stars including well known Geordie actress and Emmerdale favourite Charlie Hardwick, ex Coronation Street star Bill Ward and The Upper Hand and Hollyoaks' Joe McGann.
With production of the new series pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic, Vera is returning to screens after a lengthy break, after the first two episodes of series 11 went out in the autumn.

There are six episodes of Vera series 11 in total, with episode 3 airing on Sunday, January 9 and the remaining following every Sunday after that.
The six self-contained crime stories are inspired by the best-selling novels and characters created by acclaimed Tyneside-based crime writer Ann Cleeves, who received the Diamond Dagger Award at the Crime Writer’s Association in 2017 for a lifetime achievement for sustained excellence.
In 2020, series 10 of Vera averaged a mightily impressive 7.5 million viewers for ITV, with the first two episodes of series 11 pulling in over seven million.
