There's a new drama to get stuck into this week on ITV in the form of The Long Call.
Right after much buzzed about drama Angela Black had its third gripping episode on Sunday night, the broadcaster will let another highly anticipated series out of the traps on Monday when The Long Call finally makes it debut.
From the pen of Vera author Ann Cleeves and adapted for television by Des and Baptiste screenwriter Kelly Jones, the drama focuses on the return of Inspector Matthew Venn, another favourite of Ann's famous fictional detectives, to home turf, to unravel the mystery of a grisly murder.

Matthew, played by Ben Aldridge, was cast out by his North Devon family 20 years earlier and is forced to confront demons from his own past head on as attempts to get to the bottom of the stabbing of a local man.
There are FOUR episodes of The Long Call in total.
And, the good news for anyone who is very impatient when it comes to wait for the next part of a drama, is that all four will air over consecutives nights on ITV this week, ending with the final episode on Thursday, October 28.
The Long Call cast also includes George Gently star Martin Shaw and soap icon Anita Dobson.
A ITV teaser for episode 1 reads: "DI Matthew Venn and his team, Detective Jen Rafferty and DC Ross Edwards, search for a way into a case that has no witnesses, no forensics and no motive.
"Matthew is also dealing with the recent death of his father and the complications of being thrust back into a community he was forced to leave.
"As he tries to make a new home with his husband, his mother, a strict member of the Christian Brethren community, refuses to put the past behind them after years of estrangement
"It’s a painful new beginning for Matthew; his husband, Jonathan, is keen to support him but Matthew is determined not to allow the past to distract him from the investigation."
Excitement is high for The Long Call's debut, with one viewer tweeting: "At last we have The Long Call on tonight so excited Hoping it will go on like Vera and Shetland has ."
