It's been likened to Broadchurch and while it still has a long way to go before it reaches the heights of that smash hit series, new ITV drama The Bay made quite an impact so far.
If you missed the first episode on Wednesday, March 20, and the second, third and fourth instalments, the teaser from ITV reads "When Detective Sergeant Lisa Armstrong is assigned to a missing persons investigation in Morecambe Bay, at first it seems like any other – tragic, but all too familiar.
"As a police Family Liaison Officer, she’s trained never to get emotionally involved. Her job is to support families during the worst time of their lives whilst also to be the eyes and ears of the police investigation; a cuckoo in the nest.
“But there’s something very different about this particular case. With horror Lisa realises she’s got a personal connection with this frightened family; one that could compromise her and the investigation.
"As she grapples to get justice for the grieving family, Lisa discovers it could come at the cost of her own.”
Arriving on our screens hot on the heels of much-buzzed about Cheat, The Bay had millions of people tuning into episode one and two, with people on the edges of their seats and taking to Twitter to share their theories on what was going to happen.
Slight spoiler alert here - episode three brought a massive twist when it was revealed that one of the missing siblings could be responsible for the other one's death and then a huge cliffhanger at the end of the fourth when one of the children was found alive!
And then there's surely still plenty of drama to come with Lisa's daughter Abbie and her drug dealing and the biggest elephant in the room of of them all - the fact that Lisa and Shaun, stepdad to the brother and sister at the centre of the inquiry, slept together on the night they went missing, which cost Lisa her job at the end of episode 5, not to mention the fact Shaun's other half found out!
How many episodes of The Bay are there on ITV?
There will be six in total, each airing on Wednesday night.
The Bay will come to an end on April 24 and as yet ITV have yet to comment on a second series.
