How many draft picks do Saints have after Erik McCoy trade?

The New Orleans Saints traded several draft picks in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Miami Dolphins, but recouped a couple of picks for themselves. Here’s where they stand after the trade that brought former Texas A&M Aggies center Erik McCoy to New Orleans, and previous transactions that netted them pass rusher Marcus Davenport, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, and cornerback Eli Apple.

2019 draft picks

  • Round 4, No. 116
  • Round 5, No. 168
  • Round 6, No. 177
  • Round 7, No. 231
  • Round 7, No. 244

2020 draft picks

  • Round 1
  • Round 3
  • Round 4
  • Round 5
  • Round 6

The Saints might not be finished. That’s enough ammunition for them to package into another trade, and possibly move back into the third round. They would have to give up more future assets to move up from No. 116 (or acquire a new selection altogether, as they did back in 2017 when the Saints picked superstar Alvin Kamara) but it’s certainly an option on the table if a prospect they like is available at the right spot. Don’t tune out for the night just yet.
