Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March, the Scottish Government has released daily figures on the number of new cases and deaths.
Sadly, 3,143 people have now died from Covid-19 having testing positive for virus within 28 days of their death since the start of the health crisis.
Each day, Nicola Sturgeon publishes this figure either at her daily coronavirus update or on the Scottish Government website by 2pm.
But Scotland also records another death toll which includes deaths where the doctor suspects coronavirus played a part in a person's death.
This data, based on information from death certificates, including in NHS Lothian, is released every Wednesday afternoon and also reveals more information such as the number of excess deaths and where people have died.
