Juan Mata has said the Manchester United players have been impressed with the youngsters Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has brought into the squad and is confident they will continue to improve.
Mason Greenwood started in the 3-0 win against FK Partizan in the Europa League which secured United's qualification to the knockout stages of the competition while James Garner came on in the second half for his first senior appearance at Old Trafford.
Brandon Williams could be in line for his first Premier League start against Brighton on Sunday with Ashley Young suspended and Luke Shaw out injured and Mata spoke about how impressed the other players in the squad have been with the younger contingent.
"We have a squad with a mix of experience and young people coming through the academy," Mata told BT Sport. "Some of them are having a lot of minutes, they are developing as players and people and we are very happy with them."
The victory meant United are back to winning ways after a disappointing defeat against Bournemouth in the league last weekend and Mata, who impressed as the playmaker on Thursday night, was asked what he has made of the team's slow start to the season.
"We are doing okay in this competition, we have qualified which was the first objective but we want to be top," he said. "We want to keep escalating positions in the Premier League and are still alive in the other two cups.
"It is always good to arrive at the next game with a win. The confidence is good, we enjoyed ourselves and we will try to replicate the good football in the Premier League."
