How Manchester United's top-four odds changed after Chelsea's loss to Liverpool

It has been a very productive weekend for Manchester United, who saw off West Ham at Old Trafford on Sunday to put the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal.

Maurizio Sarri’s side could not muster a response, losing 2-0 to title-chasing Liverpool at Anfield, while Arsenal will play their fixture on Monday away from home against Watford, where the Gunners could return to the top-four.

United have done their work though and, according to OddsChecker, their chances of finishing in the top-four and securing Champions League football have received a boost as their odds have shortened to 2-1.

The Red Devils are still seen as the least likely of the four sides fighting for the top-four to be successfully in their charge though, due to the fact their game in hand is against arch-rivals Manchester City.

Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to clinch a spot in Europe’s elite competition next season at odds of 1/7, while Arsenal are now seen as second-favourites at odds of 5/6.

Chelsea , meanwhile, have seen their odds drift to 5/4 after the defeat and they will require assistance from other sides in the Premier League if they are to return to the Champions League.
