How Manchester United player Marcus Rashford reacted to Man City UEFA ban

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has revealed he wasn't happy to see rivals Manchester City receive a two-year ban from UEFA back in February.

City were found to have seriously breached financial fair play regulations and were banned from participating in the Champions League and Europa League for two seasons.

The Blues maintain their innocence and will appeal the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Should the ban be upheld, provided the Premier League season resumes, United could secure Champions League qualification by finishing the campaign in fifth place.

Nevertheless, Rashford revealed he was disappointed when the decision was announced due to his friendship with players at the club.

Asked whether he was happy about the ban, he told BT Sport : "No, I have friends that play for City.

"So it's not nice to see it happen to them."

The England international was also asked whether he thought City boss Pep Guardiola would get sacked by a young United fan.

Guardiola's contract is due to expire at the end of next season.

He said: "That's a tough question.

"No, Pep's a top manager. I think City are lucky to have a manager like him."

One young City fan in attendance pressed Rashford on his thoughts on United's rivals.

The striker added: "No, I don't not like Man City.

"It's obviously difficult because there's people in my family who support City and it's just one of those things were when we're speaking about football we just don't really get in to that.

"I was always a United fan as soon as I knew that United wanted me to go and train there that was the end of it basically.

"I just fell in love with the club from then."
