How Manchester United might have convinced Paul Pogba to stay

Manchester United's recent form may have convinced Paul Pogba to stay the club according to former United defender Mikael Silvestre.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last ten games in all competitions and boosted their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League by defeating rivals Manchester City last weekend.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed prior to the Europa League fixture against LASK that Pogba would be returning to fitness next week ahead of a crucial period of the season.

Pogba's future remains unclear as the MEN understands the Frenchman told his teammates that he still wants to leave the club after stating his desire for a new challenge back in June.

Nevertheless, Silvestre thinks the World Cup winner may reconsider his stance due to United 's recent performances and opt to commit his long-term future to the club.

"Whether Paul Pogba stays or goes will remain an unanswered question until the end of the season," he told NJ Online Gambling .

"The great dynamic in the team at the moment will have convinced him that Manchester United is the right place to be and they are a club moving forward.

"But there are still a lot of points to play for, so it depends if the form continues and they manage to get Champions League qualification.

"Either way, it will be a massive positive for United if they manage to keep Pogba for next season."
