Jesse Lingard has piled the praise on Mason Greenwood following his full Manchester United debut on Sunday afternoon.
The 17-year-old forward was one of five changes made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the visit of Cardiff over the weekend, and despite the result he impressed on first start.
Greenwood was the one bright spark for United on a dull afternoon at Old Trafford and almost netted his first goal for the club when his low effort was pushed against the post by Neil Etheridge.
Although he is yet to score for the first-team, Greenwood has an incredible record of 30 goals in 29 starts at youth level and will be looking to establish himself in the senior squad ahead of the new season.
Speaking after the disappointing loss to Cardiff, Lingard praised Greenwood for the manner of his performance.
"He was brilliant," Lingard told MUTV. "He enjoyed the occasion, he gave us that energy, he was getting on the ball and he got shots away.

"That is compliment to the kid, he is not scared of the occassion. He is not scared of playing in front of 75,000 people. He really took it upon himself to take the game to them.
"Obviously he has people around him to help us and that is our job.
"He is kind of laid-back to be honest. When you get to know him he comes out of his shell a bit more."
