England manager Gareth Southgate has hailed the improvement of Luke Shaw after the Manchester United defender earned an international recall.
Shaw has been one of United 's stand-out players this season and was named in Southgate's latest England squad.
The left-back was an unused substitute in the 5-0 victory over San Marino at Wembley on Thursday evening.
But he could get a chance to add to his eight senior caps so far in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers with Albania in Tirana tomorrow (March 28) and Poland at Wembley on Wednesday (March 31).
"He's been very good," said Southgate about Shaw. "Luke played in the first Under-21 game I took charge of.
"There's never been any doubt in our mind about Luke's quality.
"It's been great to see him playing on the front foot as a full-back, with his defending and he's been really ambitious with his attacking.
"He looks like he's in good condition to drive forward, he's got excellent quality with the ball, it's a good moment for him."
Southgate added: "He's aggressive against his wingers, he's difficult to play against one-vs-one, he's getting better with his cover defending for his centre-backs.
"He's got to find the level he's shown at his club and play his game."
Meanwhile, United striker Marcus Rashford has withdrawn from the England squad due to injury.
Rashford had linked up with the national team despite carrying a foot issue, which was sustained in the Europa League tie with AC Milan.
However, following further assessments, the FA has now confirmed Rashford will return to United to continue his rehabilitation.
