How Man Utd's win over West Ham affects Premier League top four race

Manchester United returned to winning ways with a fortunate victory over West Ham at Old Trafford.

United had lost four of their five matches before the clash and had slipped to sixth in the Premier League table.

Paul Pogba's penalty put United on course for three points but they were far from impressive from then on.

Felipe Anderson deservedly pulled West Ham level and they came close to going ahead as Michail Antonio hit the bar before forcing David de Gea into a stunning save.

But United went ahead when Pogba scored his second from the spot after Anthony Martial was felled.

The win came hours after Tottenham boosted their own quest to finish in the top four with a demolition of relegated Huddersfield.

Chelsea travel to Liverpool on Sunday before Arsenal , the other side in the top four picture, take on Watford on Monday.

Here's the state of play in the race for a Champions League place.
