Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has once again been linked with the managerial job at Manchester United, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under pressure after his side slumped to disappointing defeats against Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.
Red Devils chiefs have again made contact with Pochettino about potentially replacing Solskjaer and the Argentine could make several changes if he is appointed.
While Solskjaer has utilised three different formations so far this season, Pochettino would likely revert to the 4-2-3-1 system he favoured during his time at Southampton and Tottenham.
David de Gea would likely continue ahead of Dean Henderson in between the sticks, with the Spaniard impressing so far this season after some error-prone displays over the past few years.
Pochettino and Luke Shaw shared a close relationship during their time together at Southampton, with Shaw ultimately breaking into the England team.
Describing his time under Pochettino, Shaw said: "I think he really wants me to play under him again. He used to call me his son, that's how good our relationship was. I've had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up."
As a result, it seems as though he would favour Shaw ahead of summer signing Alex Telles at left-back.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka could take his game to a new level under Pochettino, with full-backs playing a key role in his favoured tactical setup.
Axel Tuanzebe could be given a regular run alongside Harry Maguire at centre-back, provided he stays fit, with Pochettino willing to give young talent a chance.
Paul Pogba could finally be on his way out of Old Trafford, having once again admitted he would be happy to leave the club by expressing his desire to join Real Madrid.
As a result, new signing Donny van de Beek could be a regular partner for Scott McTominay in midfield, with both players willing to do the running that Pochettino's high-pressing style requires.
Bruno Fernandes would occupy the number 10 role, with Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford forming a formidable front three.
Pochettino showed at Spurs that he could develop exciting talents into consistent performers and he could get the best out of all three attackers.
