How Man Utd could line up next season in dream scenario with 3 new signings and 10 exits

It's set to be a busy summer for Manchester United with Erik ten Hag arriving at Old Trafford.

The Dutch manager has a monumental task on his hands with a major rebuild expected in the upcoming transfer window. The number of departures could potentially reach double figures, which means the boss will be looking for plenty of reinforcements in the other direction, as a result.

Nemanja Matic is the first casualty of the Ten Hag era as the Serbian announced his plans to leave the club at the end of the season with his contract expiring. Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata and Lee Grant are all free agents as well and will likely follow suit.

On top of that, there are a number of players under contract that Ten Hag could look to cash in on. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial could leave United to kickstart Hag's overhaul. One player who is likely to get a reprieve with the arrival of Ten Hag is Donny van Beek, currently on loan at Everton, who played under United's new boss at Ajax.

Players that were prominent in Ajax's infamous side in 2019 that reached the Champions League semi-final seems to be a common theme in regards to Ten Hag's transfer targets as he looks for players he can trust.

Frenkie de Jong is another player who has been linked with a move to United with Barcelona reportedly making him available. The Spanish side have put the Ajax star up for sale due to their ongoing financial problems, according to Goal, with Barca willing to listen to offers in the region of £50million.

The Red Devils are seemingly the frontrunners to win the race for De Jong's signature, given his previous relationship with Ten Hag but it's claimed Man City are set to hijack their rival's bid.

Ten Hag is also looking to reunite with Matthijs de Ligt as United look to address their well-documented issues in defence with Harry Maguire's future up in the air. Journalist Oriol Domenech has claimed the 52-year-old wants both players to kick off his Old Trafford revamp.

Darwin Nunez is another player who could be Manchester bound as the Uruguyan's meteoric rise continues. The striker has made his mark in the Champions League with several vital goals going during the Portugal club's run to the quarter-finals.

And multiple reports claim the talisman is on Ten Hag's radar as United are in desperate need of attacking firepower with Martial and Cavani set to leave the club in the summer.

Man Utd's potential XI under Ten Hag : De Gea, Dalot, Varane, De Ligt, Shaw, Fernandes, Van de Beek, De Jong, Ronaldo, Nunez, Sancho.
