How Man City's Ferran Torres made instant impact for Spain at Euro 2020

Manchester City's Ferran Torres came off the bench in Spain's 5-0 win over Slovakia, scoring in 44 seconds for his nation with a cheeky flick finish.

The goal, Spain's fourth of the evening, came from an initial corner which was passed short by Koke to Pablo Sarabia. The latter played a one-two with Pedri on the edge of the box, before sprinting into space and receiving the ball from the Barcelona midfielder.

The move ended with Sarabia hitting a drilled cross into the area for City forward Torres to flick home. It was another example of the fluent football Luis Enrique's side played, as they finally found their gear in Euro 2020 after two sluggish draws in their opening two matches.

Torres wasn't the only City player to get his name on the scoresheet against Slovakia. Centre-back Aymeric Laporte headed home Spain's second goal just before half-time.

Attention for the nation now turns to their round of 16 clash with Croatia on Monday evening. The two nations face off at 5pm at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.

It'll be interesting to see if Torres' instant impact against Slovakia earns him a starting spot in Enrique's team against the 2018 World Cup finalists.
