How Man City players reacted to Liverpool FC loss to Watford

Oleksandr Zinchenko admits he and his Manchester City teammates were all surprised to see Liverpool fall to defeat at Watford on Saturday.

Prior to their loss at Vicarage Road, Liverpool had only dropped points once this season in the Premier League and were unbeaten since losing to City in January 2019.

Jurgen Klopp's side are still just four wins away from securing their first Premier League title and remain 22 points ahead of City. Their dominance has prompted Pep Guardiola and many of his players to concede defeat in their bid to win a third successive title, with focus switching to the remaining cup competitions.

City won the first of those trophies on Sunday by beating Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup final and Zinchenko spoke after the game, saying his side will continue to fight for every competition.

"It is so important for us to win every title," he said.

"We are so happy for that. We have an unbelievable squad and we fight for all titles. So everyone is happy but we should think about the next game because we have one or two other challenges. We want to fight."

When asked about Liverpool's surprise 3-0 defeat by Watford, Zinchenko revealed the shock in the City dressing room at the result.

"I was busy. I didn't watch the game. I just saw the result," he explained, saying City will not lose focus in the league despite re-focusing their efforts on the two remaining cups.

"We are not focused on that. Everyone was surprised but we are focused on our games. They are so far away from us on paper. But we have to show our class after our performance in every single game and then at the end of the season we are going to speak about if it was a good season for us or if it was successful or not.

"We are still fighting for another title and we have to do our job. We have to do our best and then we will see.

"We have the Champions League and the FA Cup as well. We are going to fight for these titles and see what happens.

"Everyone is focused on the game, which is the next one and that is it. We don't have to think too much about. It is just about performances."
