Manchester City have acted quickly before the completion of the 2021/22 campaign after they confirmed that, subject to final terms being agree, Erling Haaland will officially join them on July 1. The 21-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker will link up with Pep Guardiola's side from next season after they triggered his release clause, reported to be in the region of €60m (£51m).
Haaland has enjoyed a superb rise to stardom over the last two to three seasons, setting numerous goalscoring records at not only domestic level, but in European competitions too.
Arsenal are also looking to strengthen heading into next season, with many of City's attacking players having been linked with moves to North London, so what does City's capture of Haaland mean to the Gunners?

With Haaland likely to lead the line ahead of both Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling, we could perhaps see activity involving the clubs later this summer. Jesus has a contract until June of next year, but could be available for a transfer should City decide to part ways with the Brazilian.
Gunners manager Mikel Arteta is known to be in the market for a new centre-forward following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's January departure to Barcelona and could look to line up a potential deal.
It is hard to envisage a City side with all three of Haaland, Jesus and Sterling with in it, with the other amount of attacking talent that has shone so far this season. England international Sterling will be looking to recreate some of his terrific domestic form heading into next season too, given the upcoming 2022 World Cup that takes place in November and December.
Sterling made the switch from Liverpool to City back in 2015 and has resided in the north west ever since but he could be tempted to move back to the capital, having grown up in north-west London.
