How Love Island 2019 couple Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard finally made it official

Love Island pair Curtis Pritchard and Maura Higgins have finally taken their relationship to the next level by going official.

The pair met in the villa over the summer and had been seeing each other since then.

They made it the Love Island finals and ended up in fourth place.

But over the weekend Curtis, 23, took Maura away and popped the question over dinner, Mirror Online reports.

The couple 'coupled up' in the villa after Curtis' relationship broke down with flight attendant Amy.

Maura told OK! all about the special evening.

She said: "He asked and I said yes obviously.

"He took me away for a weekend break, and he asked me out over dinner in London the next day."

Curtis also explained why he waited so long to ask Maura, saying: "I want something that's going to last forever. There's no point in rushing things. We've only known each other a short amount of time."

The couple explained their romance by admitting "opposites attract".
