How Loose Women will look as it returns to ITV after six weeks

For super fans of daytime TV, it has been six long weeks without one of ITV's major shows.

Loose Women was forced into temporary cancellation as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, with repeats of old episodes aired in its place.

It was part of a series of changes to ITV's daytime programming which included an extended version of Good Morning Britain from 6am until 10am with Lorraine joining for the last hour before This Morning airs with a 'skeleton crew' and host Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby social distancing.

But it was finally announced earlier this week that Loose Women will finally be back, albeit not fully and with some changes.

From tomorrow, Monday May 4, the panellists return to the programme with some adjustments to adhere to social distancing rules.

Three women, instead of all the panellists, will be in the studio with one joining via video link from their home.

There will also be some pre-recorded shows across the week, as well as the live shows on Mondays and Wednesdays to "limit the footfall" at the ITV studios.

Andrea McLean, Brenda Edwards and Linda Robson will host the first show back - with Coleen Nolan joining via video link - and have given a glimpse at what the new changes will look like.

And of course, there will be no live audience.

On the return, Andrea sadi: "Loose Women has been a part of my life for thirteen years, so to suddenly not be meeting up with my friends, catching up over a latte and hearing the latest about what’s going on in their lives has been really strange.

"As the whole world will agree - chatting over video call just isn’t the same!

"I can’t wait to get back to work, get back into the studio and give our lovely viewers some much-needed love and laughter at lunchtime; it’s what we Loose Women do best!"

Loose Women will air from 12.30pm on ITV.
