The weather is looking to get hotter in Leeds over the next couple of days, with temperatures getting close to a sizzling 30 degrees.
Today will reach the dizzy heights of 25 degrees by the afternoon and tomorrow will hit 27 degrees. The Met Office says Thursday will be a “fine, very warm, day with long sunny periods and light winds” - although showers are expected to move north towards the end of the day.
In some places, temperatures may reach 30 degrees on Thursday with the highest temperatures expected in the south. Leeds is set to experience 27 degree temperatures, although it may be the last time for a while we see this kind of heat.

Towards the weekend, the weather will begin to get cooler with temperatures reaching around 22 degrees on Friday, which will be a much cloudier day with some showers expected. Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures of around 19 degrees.
The Met Office said: “Cloudier through Friday and the weekend with stronger winds and widespread, occasionally heavy, showers. Feeling a little less warm by the weekend.”
Next week, the east of the country will see some heavy showers while the rest will be sunny and dry. However, showers are likely to develop, with some even becoming thunderstorms.
At the start of the week, these showers are expected by the Met Office to be heavy in places, particularly the North and the West. As time goes on, weather across the north will remain unsettled with showers and rain. Temperatures are also expected to be around normal and just below normal for this time of year.
On the long-range forecast, from Wednesday, July 6 to Wednesday, July 20, the weather is set to remain unsettled in the north. However, this may stabilise as the month goes on with temperatures possibly moving a little above average. The south will potentially become “very warm or hot” towards the end of this time.
