How long is the warm and sunny weather going to last in Greater Manchester?

In a city that is no stranger to the wet and windy weather, it's pretty typical that the sun will make a grand appearance during lockdown.

Particularly following the snowy, icy start to the year.

But that just means while its here, make the most of your one daily walk issued by the government or just sit in the garden and watch the world go by.

And it's time to accept that spring has finally sprung.

According to the Met Office, Greater Manchester will continue to see clear skies with light winds on Thursday with patchy cloud not creeping in until the afternoon further north. During the afternoon, some patchy cloud may creep into the far north but still maximum temperature of 16 C.

Temperatures are set to drop overnight to around -1C but when the early frost and fog clears, the sun will return with maximum temperatures of around 14C.

However, as we head into the weekend things may take a slight turn.

The Met Office says that the weather will become less warm, with increased cloud, wind speeds and the odd shower - with highs of 9 C on Saturday and 7 C on Sunday.

But don't worry, sunny spells are still likely.

By Monday things are expected to remain cooler with cloud and high of around 9 C.

So it may be back to the scarves and coats next week.
