How long is it set to rain for in Edinburgh and the Lothians?

They say there was a time when it wasn’t raining in Edinburgh.

June has not brought the warm weather and sunshine to the capital we’ve all been pining for – in fact it’s been the exact opposite.

The capital hes been sodden for what feels like the last fortnight. Monday brought some brief respite in the form of blue skies and a bit of sun, but that didn’t last and it feels like it’s been raining ever since.

It got to the stage that an amber warning went out yesterday for parts of East Lothian and Midlothian , which sparked feats that drivers would face hazardous condition on their commute.

That has since been downgraded to yellow.

But when will the seemingly relentless downpour end? There appears to be good news on that front.

The Met Office predicts that showers in Edinburgh , East Lothian and Midlothian should stop by around 4pm, with the chance of precipitation falling from greater than 95% to 20% by then,

It’s forecast to stay dry until 6am on Friday, with even some sunshine peeking out from behind the clouds.

The rain is then due to return at midday, but then things should stay dry until 4, with showers being followed by more sun and cloud before it actually gets quite nice around 9m – just in time for the sun setting.
