Manchester City have moved to tie down more of their players ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Kyle Walker and Aleks Zinchenko have both signed contract extensions this summer, while Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva and Aymeric Laporte were among the first team stars to renew during the course of the campaign.
A number of decisions need to be made for next year, with Ilkay Gundogan, Fernandinho and David Silva all entering the final 12 months of their deals; the club are hopeful Gundogan will sign an extension but are looking to keep him for another year rather than sell him even if new terms cannot be agreed.
Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has outlined the importance of such renewals: "We sign them, we make sure they have long-term contracts, we manage that contractual relationship extremely well and the timing of these renewals," he said.
"Some of them we've renewed a year after signing them because they've deserved it. I think that's very important in managing our people is they are fairly compensated to what they deserve within the market place."
